For over 40 years I have reported from all over the world and met many amazing people. Much of my work was broadcast on BBC Radio 4, Radio 5 Live, The World Service and National Public Radio in America.

I have hundreds of old tapes, reel to reel, cassettes and digital. I've blown off the dust and played some again. It was a great pleasure to interview civil rights campaigner Samuel Lacy in 1998.

Sam fought for integration in sport and knew it would lead to social change across America and the world. I met him twice in Baltimore. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. He told of the 1920's and his struggle for equality.

In Derby the city council decided to build a super environmentally sustainable house, where energy bills would be under £100 a year. I went to take around. First broadcast on BBC Radio 4 You and Yours in 1994.
